TO BE A TROPHY

I get picked up, I get passed around

I’m the talking point in quite a large crowd.

They grasp my body and hold me up high

I’m clear to see as I soar for the sky.

Many faces and voices all have a stare

Each and everyone showing compassion and care.

I am not an individual but I will be to you

I want to understand all the troubles you’ve been through.

The hard work and dedication that has brought us together

I want to be by your side from now until forever.

The life that you chose of many sleepless nights

Dreaming of different ways to place the cameras and the lights.

How will your creative mind set a visual mood?

How will you have time to have some normal food?

The days are long filming but the edit will be longer

They always do say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

Actors in place and ready to go,

It was meant to be sunny but here comes the snow.

Nothing you could plan for but you keep on ploughing through.

Being a film director is what you were born to do.

It was worth it in the end as the final credits roll

You set your sights on glory…with me your end goal!

I’ll take pride in wherever you choose to be my home.

Remember a film isn’t completed in a day and neither was Rome.

As the light refracts through my glass, my place of home is set
